Natural Help For Insomnia During Second Trimester?

 - by admin

I didn't have trouble sleeping while pregnant with my daughter until I was heading on into the third trimester, but I'm already having horrible insomnia with this pregnancy. I'm only 17 weeks, 5 days along, and I keep waking up somewhere between 3:30 and 4:30 a.m. each and every morning. That wouldn't be a big problem except I've been completely unable to get back to sleep, and I absolutely don't have the chance to nap in the afternoon.

Are there any natural, safe ways to help prevent myself from waking so prematurely or get back to sleep after waking?

I'd just suck it up and deal with it, but I'm beginning a direct sales business this weekend. Two solid weeks of poor sleep is beginning to lead to my making extremely stupid mistakes, and I'm finding it next to impossible to remember the information I need to know for my business. I need at least a couple good nights' sleep to be on top of my game Saturday afternoon.

Any help is greatly appreciated!
I know warm milk is supposed to help you sleep, but unfortunately, I can't drink it without gagging violently.

The only "natural" thing I could do during my pregnancies was take a hot bath before bed and drink hot chocolate made with milk (it was the ONLY way I could drink milk). Otherwise, Tylenol PM is safe while pregnant, and that is the only thing my dr. recommended to help with insomnia.
