Sleeping!!??

October 7th, 2008 by admin

I'm 18 weeks pregnant and already am having problems sleeping. I'm having a few hours a night and my friend said that i shouldn't be feeling like this until im into my third trimester. I've tried absolutely everything to sleep and nothings working. Any tips? I'm so tired but just can't sleep!

No, your friend is wrong, it is normal to feel this way. Your baby bump is growing, and you are having a hard time adjusting to your new proportions, and the baby pressing your diafram, stomach, spine, etc. plus all the emotional changes you are going through. Nothing worked for me, but try back massages, relaxing music before going to bed, turn off that TV, read a book, start knitting something, etc. You might also want to take up yoga, it is a great excercise that will make you tired as well. Stay away from caffeine and sugar sometime around 5pm.

How can I get into a normal sleeping pattern?

yeah thats a lil weird im 7 months and this just started with me to but im further along.my dr told me it was safe to take tylenol pm or an over the counter sleep aid such as unisom.i chose to take tylenol pm,it still takes me awhile to get comfortable in bed but about after an hour of taking pm it kicks in and i drift off and relax it not only helps me sleep but also takes any pain away.
